OUR ROOTS

Our story starts in 1988, where Orange Blossom Pilsner, one of Florida’s first craft beers, was initially brewed in our founder Tom Moench’s Orlando garage. A 7th generation Floridian and Orlando native, Tom grew up loving the sweet scent of orange blossoms in the air. And it stayed with him, as it turns out that even before he was legally old enough to drink beer, he was buying the ingredients to craft his own, including the orange blossom honey that is key to the flavor of OBP. What started as a way to subvert the system, then became a lifelong passion.

From being awarded a patent on a draft-to-go device to judging at the Great American Beer Festival, Tom built a foundation that allowed him to take his acclaimed honey beer pro. In 2014, he transitioned brewing to a new facility and OBP became the Orange Blossom Brewing Company.

A new partner brewing business model allowed OBBC to not only brew the beer to the exact specifications predetermined by Tom at scale, but also to package and distribute from the brewery, making the beer more widely available.

Along with OBP and City Beautiful IPA, currently our offerings include our 11% OBP Squared. Volcano Blossom only available at Volcano Bay. Bloomsday Pale Ale at Ragland Road. Dragon Blossom and Honey Jasmine Lager at the Epcot China Pavilion. OBBC beers are now available in over 1,800 locations across Florida, Georgia and Alabama.

Tom Moench passed away in 2025 but his legacy lives on. His family with his business partners continue to brew Tom’s beers and we're proud to be part of our Orlando community. We believe in giving back to the City Beautiful, as our hometown has helped make us successful and continues to support us daily.
